Introduction to Department

GBH-AH is the first Blood Bank with Component, in South Rajasthan providing Transfusion and Transplantation services. The GBH-AH establish the standards of care of patients and donors in all aspects of Blood Banking.

Separation of Blood Components

We at GBH-AH is having the facility of separating the blood into its components, Plasma, Red Blood Cells, White Blood Cells and Platelets before being stored. Separating of components allows the blood of single donor to be used for several patients who have different needs.  Blood is separated by centrifugation process in which the blood is rapidly spun so that the heavier blood cells and platelets separate out from the lighter plasma.
